How to have a successful protest

It's really quite simple:
  1. Make sure that you have the moral high ground, that what you are are protesting against is really an injustice.
  2. Have a realistic solution, with steps on what needs to happen to make that change.
  3. Never undermine your moral position during the protest.
That's it.
Sometimes a protest can work when these things aren't followed, but that is the exception, not the rule.

Example 1:
Teachers going on strike for better pay.

1. They say their pay should increase each year, just like other workers.
2. They say the solution is to increase their pay: a quick change in the government pay system.
3. They go back to work as soon as the negotiations start, to show that their protest is only about their pay, and not just an attempt to not work.

The only flaw here is that sometimes point 1 isn't very strong. Some countries pay teachers well, yet they still strike.

Example 2:
Current riots in the US, that are spreading across the world.

1. They say that police brutality against blacks must end.
2. They say the solution is to end police brutality...*
3. They attack police, cause destruction and death to innocent people and property.

The cause is just. All people would agree that a police force should not kill people when making peaceful arrests.
* There is no realistic solution. "Ending police brutality" has no steps towards a solution. Added to which, many people are carrying signs that spew hatred:
"Shoot the white folk."
"F*** pigs." (All of them? Even the black cops?)
"No lives matter until black lives do."

That's not a solution, that's a call to war.

But these "protestors" do not simply obstruct the normal flow of life, they destroy it. They burn down properties and vehicles, they assault people who get in the way, they attack the very people they want to stop being violent.
Basically, they are exacerbating the problem in their attempts to bring about peace.
It doesn't work that way.

This is why the riots will fail.
They undermine their message with their actions.

To be fair, some people are there to protest peacefully. When the curfew comes, they need to go home and separate themselves from the violent people who undermine their message.
The rioters are mainly the terrorist groups "Antifa" and "Black Lives Matter" who have hijacked a worthy cause to bring anarchy.

Antifa is supposedly an "anti-fascist" group, whose modus operandi is to bring change through fear. Ironically, they are the very fascists they claim to be against.

Black Lives Matter supposedly wants to raise awareness about the hardships of being black in a Western society. But they do little to help black people and more to destroy their lives to show how tough it must be for them. Honestly, if the current Black Lives Matter didn't exist, then black people would likely be better off.

Protestors are welcome. Rioters deserve to be in jail. If they attempt to attack a cop, then I fully support the cops shooting them... with real bullets.

If I had a gun, and someone came running at me with bricks, Molotov cocktails, foul language and hatred in their eyes, then I'd shoot them too. In civilised society, that's called "self-defense".

Don't be an idiot. Protest properly or pay the consequences.

Violent "protestors" are idiots.

Amid all the rioting going on in the US, one thing is clear: if you become violent, you're an idiot.

Here's why:

The supposed "anger" is over a white cop who killed a black man, George Floyd, who was already under arrest and on the ground. A terrible situation, to be sure, and one that needs justice.

Peaceful protests are admirable and lawful (especially in the US), and are great ways to bring about change (e.g. Martin Luther King, Jr.).

When a protest turns violent, it is no longer about justice, it's about vengeance. More people have already been killed due to the protests. How many people need to die in order for "justice" to be achieved? Why should innocent lives be sacrificed for this end?

The violence has spawned vandalism, looting, assault and all sorts of anarchy... in the name of "justice".

Destroying property, assaulting people, stealing, etc., are all criminal offences. Why do those doing these things think they should get away with it? Is that "justice" for one person being killed?

The rioters get angry when one of their own gets hurt and needs medical attention... but then attack the police who come to help the injured person (see this video). What idiocy!

And when those same police officers try to leave, the rioters chase them and continue attacking them... so it's not enough that the police are leaving? When is it enough... when the police are dead??

And what about those who wave signs saying "Abolish the police"? And then what? How do you keep order? Through mob rule??

And what about those who wave signs saying "No lives matter until black lives do"? Really? You think it's okay to go around killing innocent people simply because you feel your minority group is being treated unfairly?

And what about those chanting "Shoot the white folk"? Is that justice? One black person dies unfairly at the hands of a white police officer, and now you want all white people dead? Is that justice?

Black communities have been burned down.
Black businesses have been vandalised and looted.
Black people have been injured.
All by "protestors".
You can't complain that black people suffer at the hands of white people, when you are doing this to your own communities!
What a bunch of idiots!!

If this is "justice", then I am so, so, SO glad that these people are not in power!
Is it Trump's fault? I bet that's what the media will now try to claim.
No, it's the rioters' fault. They are causing this destruction.
You want rid of the police? You'd prefer a mafia? Tribalism?

You know, I really do think I'm better than all you "protestors". Because of "white supremacy"? No.
Because I think conversation and discussion are better than destruction.
Because I think all lives matter, equally, no matter what colour, creed or race.
Because I respect those who serve my community by keeping law and order, whether they be black or white.
Because I respect all human beings due to them being human beings.
Because I will not reduce a person or people group to a colour.
Because I accept that all people make mistakes, even cops.
Because I value justice and proper investigations into wrongdoing.
Because I accept that I can be proven wrong when shown the facts and evidence.
Because I do not hold the present generation to account for the wrongs of past generations.
Because I care about civility.
Because I care about respect.
Because I care more about listening to people than shouting at them.
Because I hold love higher than my own personal vendetta.

And because I can accept it when someone disagrees with me,
has different ideas to me,
and votes differently to me.

That's why I am better than you.
You can be better.
It's all about choices.

Twitter....... is a twit.

I have always been opposed to Twitter, mainly because of how obsessed people become over it. It's an unhealthy environment because people feel protected by the supposed "anonymity" that comes from hiding behind a computer and so they post highly ludicrous and offensive things, then get "triggered" when people call them out.

Despite all that, an experiment was done recently. The aim was to find out if there was any truth to the supposed "left-wing bias" that has led to Trump's "Social Media Executive Order". And so, a new account was created, a number of left- and right-wing people and news channels were followed, and some posts were created.

The posts were not designed to spread fake news, misinformation, or even a political agenda, simply the truth and the irony of certain viewpoints. (Incidentally, the next few posts on this blog will be like that.)

One post read:

Hitler orders rounding up and killing of Jews (a minority).
The Chinese Communist Party round up, torture, kill and organ harvest minorities (Falun Gong, Muslims, Christians, etc.)
Yet Trump is worse because some people died from a virus out of his control???

As mentioned previously, nothing untruthful about it. Fake news media (e.g. CNN) frequently degrade and demean Trump. I heard one news spokesperson describe Trump as "literally Hitler". Apart from the complete linguistic inaccuracy of the word "literally", it just simply isn't true: Trump has not killed 6 million people, Jews or otherwise, by gassing or otherwise. Trump has had no control over who lives and who dies in the pandemic. Blaming him is idiotic. You might as well blame you mother, for all the truth it would be.

Another post contained the following picture (from a CNN article):
and criticised CNN by highlighting that their opposition to Trump's "Executive Order" suggests that they should be allowed to continue editing their articles in "bad faith".

Anyway, The experiment lasted less than 12 hours, as the account was locked. But here's where it gets darker.

Twitter wants your phone number. The way to unlock an account is to provide them with a phone number.
Why do they need this?

From a brief search on the internet, Twitter wants to be able to track people. You should never need to provide your phone number for a service that can be used entirely on the computer. I understand if it is being used on a phone, but not if the user intends to only use it off a phone.

Hence, Twitter......... is a twit.

But it gets worse!

Twitter has a privacy policy that says that private information, such as personal phone numbers shouldn't be shared. But they want your phone number. So a user has to give away something that the company views and non-shareable private data, in order to use their "service". What hypocrisy!!

Hence, Twitter......... is a twit.

But certain things are not in violation of the policy, such as sharing "gossip, rumour, accusations and allegations". In other words, while you are not allowed to abuse or harass people (as per this policy), you are perfectly at liberty to spread false information and accusations about people. (A nice policy to allow people to spread hatred and misinformation against Trump.) What hypocrisy!!

Hence, Twitter......... is a twit.

And to top it all off, in the name of "authenticity":
"You may not use Twitter’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Twitter."
And yet Twitter chose to "fact-check" Trump when he said something truthful, by sending people to the all-reliable fact-checkers known as CNN (yes, that's sarcasm). CNN have a reputation of hatred and animosity towards Trump, which are meant to be the sort of things mentioned in Twitter's policies... What hypocrisy!!

And, of course, Twitter also says:
"You may not use Twitter’s services for the purpose of manipulating or interfering in elections. This includes posting or sharing content that may suppress voter turnout or mislead people about when, where, or how to vote."
Well, the amount of blocked content, suppressed tweets and the number of people that want Trump banned from Twitter are all attempts to interfere in the upcoming election. So far Twitter hasn't banned Trump, but they are mighty close to this line.

Hence, Twitter......... is a twit.

And Jack Dorsey is an idiot.

I shall not be joining Twitter. Especially not if they want my number.
